Casa delle Stelle is a renovated apartment in the historic centre of Tirli, a small village of around 200 inhabitants nestled in the Maremma scrubland. At 400 metres above sea level, the hillside breeze keeps even the hottest summer days comfortable.

On summer nights, far from city light pollution, the starry sky is breathtaking — just as the name of the house suggests.

The village

Tirli: un paese nel bosco

A quiet medieval village in the municipality of Castiglione della Pescaia, Tirli is surrounded by lush nature with trails for trekking and excursions. Its 200 or so inhabitants are open and welcoming.

The apartment's bookshelf holds books about the village's history and works by local author Fiorenzo Corsali. If you don't finish your chosen book, take it home — it's a gift from the house.

Il Cacciatore

Also in the square, wild boar specialities and Tuscan cuisine. The pear and pecorino ravioli is an absolute must.

La Luna

In a small side street, a refined restaurant with carefully prepared and flavourful dishes. A high-quality dining experience in the heart of the village.

Il Poggetto

Slightly outside the village, but the beautiful view and wild-boar meatballs make the short walk well worth it. Great value for money.

Il Baracchino

Tirli's first restaurant: culinary tradition and exceptional hospitality. Views over the hills, onion tart and wild boar. At the end ask for their house herbal digestif!

Il Bivio ad Ampio

A few km towards Castiglione, surprisingly varied vegetarian cuisine. You'll discover how many endless ways vegetables can be cooked!

La Tana del Cinghiale

Taglieri di salumi e formaggi e, naturalmente, cinghiale e cacciagione. Il caminetto in inverno scalda la serata, il giardino in estate è un toccasana dopo una giornata di mare.

Bar Bellavista

Motorway A1, exit Grosseto Nord then SS322 towards Castiglione della Pescaia. Tirli is on the hillside road, about 20 min from Grosseto.

Grosseto station (Rome–Pisa line). Then bus or taxi to Castiglione/Tirli (~25 min). Car hire recommended.

By plane

Pisa airport (1h45) or Rome Fiumicino (2h). Piombino port allows arrival by ferry from Elba island.
